How do i overcome the un asked for security patch that prevents me from reading source codes in note pad?
I can not use note pad to open a website to look at the source code from drop down menu in the browser.
I can use note pad to open a website to look at the source but when I try to view the the source code of a website from the browser I get the errot messsage below , even off line I get a pop up box with the title" C\windows\system32\notepad.exe
The message says ..Windows cannot access the specified drive,path or file. You may not have the appropriate permision to access them"...............this has only started recently is it a windows security issue to do with XP ? Can anybody advise me..thanks. It does not happen in other peoples computers....Please advise before i go nuts

Use Firefox and see what happens.

if this problem occurs
i suggest u change ur browser to firefox
or just add-on a plugin called code lifter
which can show u the sources codes whether the page is secured or not

but codelifter isnt free
the trial version can only show u codes for 23kb per page

I wish I had more to offer, my only suggestion is to get another browser (like other answerer suggested).. I use Avantbrowser (free download at their website avantbrowser.com).. It allows you to right-click anywhere in a web page and view source. Also, avant doesn't interfere with IE and has zero spyware. Hope this helps, good luck.
