I have a friend who is Jehovah. I even let her do a bible study at my house. I thought that would be the best way to understand them. I study and they did not turn me. But I'm sorry I can not get passed some of the things they think. I understand why many say they are a cult.

For example they will invite you to there church, but have to decline your invitation to your church. I know of a women who was kicked out the Jehovah Witnesses because she went to another church, she was only curious. But they will denie these claims.

There rules is to hard for me. No parties, no right to defend there country that gave them religious freedom to Begin with, and the whole medical is to confusing. But because of there views on blood medical science has improved. I generally think Jehovah's are good people, but I can not except not being able to come to my own conclusion on some things. I can not except being programed. And they are, there response to certain questions are all the same. They now enough about pagan rituals and holidays that a pagan could have a field day with them, because they could not defend what they say in those area. I have more but my fingers are getting crampy. I don't think it is totally bad but different.

My sister became a Jehovah's Witness. They are like family to her, more so than us, her blood relatives. It has made it difficult to communicate with her, but I completely get why she chose this way of life. My sister has had a hellish time of it, so I understand the comfort that hard and fast answers and strict rules bring her.

I can say this - many of the people who chose this path are people who had very destructive habits before. They replace those habits with fellowship amongst themselves, daily bible study and encouraging others to live what they think is the best way of life. Although I disagree with the religion, I no longer turn my nose up at them. I've learned to be compassionate.

I find them to be very kind, friendly people. Naturally, many don't like thier visits, but they do that as a matter of faith.

I personally, believe that it's a minor inconvienence and make it a point to be nice to them.

There are a lot of misconceptions about Jehovah's Witnesses, so I would take some of these comments with a grain of salt.

I am never rude to them but my heart does sink when they knock on the door. I keep my coat by the door and if the bell goes I slip it on before I open the door.If its a friend i can say that I've just got back in but if its the Jehovas witness then I say that I am just going out for an appointment.

I've had only a few dealings with them, but I sensed the attitude that they couldn't possibly be wrong about their beliefs.

Farrell Till was discussing inerrantist preachers when he wrote it, but I think the same applies to the JWs in their overconfidence:

"Yet fundamentalist preachers never tire of proclaiming the Bible to be a perfectly harmonious, inerrant record of God's dealings with man."

I don't mind them. Once a couple came to my house the other day and I invited them in for coffee...I asked them what they wanted to talk about and they were stumped, they said that they had never got this far before.....hehe.

Seriously though, they are nice people. I just don't agree with trying to push people into changing religion.

I expect the people themselves are fine, but I really hate it when they try to convert me, I don't believe in cold calling about anything by door or telephone. I bought a great wee notice from Ebay to but in my door window, it says I do not need any of the following -- new kitchen, more insurance, religious instruction, to change utilities. thankyou for not disturbing me. Its great and it works.

I have nothing against the Jehovah's Witnesses, they're entitled to their beliefs, just wish they would stop trying to talk to me about them.

My Nan loves the Jehovahs Witnesses stopping by to chat with her. She's known the two women for years, and considers them friends.
They are very nice to her, and ask how she is, and listen; so that's all good for my Nan, who's 80 years old now.
