I have setup my wireless network in our house .My brother can conect to the internet trough the wireless network.

But I can not, my laptop conects to the network but cant recive any info from the router, like an IP address, and even if I make it a static IP I still cant get any thing ( all firewalls are turned of).

Hi, try this go to start--Accessories--Command Prompt; and type in ipconfig/release and hit Enter; then type Ipconfig/renew and again hit enter, then do a restart.
N.B type the commands exactly as you see them.

Another thing to try is, open cmd, ipconfig /all, and verify your address is something other than a 169... address. A 169... address means it couldn't find the server to assign an ip.

If you have XP Pro, with cmd in the background, go to the wireless icon in the taskbar, and find the Repair feature, it will release and renew and try to get you a good IP.

If you have XP Home, I think there is a limitation for wireless networking, but can't remember what it was.
