I always hear this term, but what would be the true definition? Is it merely a gay man who is overly feminine? I ask because some have called me this before. Some friends - all female - have said that because, in their eyes, I have almost exclusively female friends who I relate better with, have PMS like moods occasionally, stubborn, used to crossdress (though repress the urge), get manicures, obsessive about my hair, submissive, into feminine things, like pink, and, worst of all, they once caught me dancing around and singing "Man! I Feel Like A Woman" dressed up and in curlers years ago (arguably the most embarrassing moment of my life), and, overall, they feel that I act and think very much like a woman and have the same needs and wants and it was probably true at one point. They even consider me one of their "girlfriends." At first I never minded (maybe even kind of liked it)but as I get older, I find myself wanting to completely wipe out that side of me and make them forget.

Now as I'm older, I want to make myself forget that and come off manly, masculine and straight, but, to this day, no matter what I do, they still say that I appear no less masculine and that I am kidding myself and trying to be something I'm not and hiding my true self, no matter how much I try to convince them. Because they call me a queen, do I fit this definition, or would you say they are wrong?

Sounds like you've gotten accustomed to the feminine parts of yourself, and now are ready to look at the masculine parts.
Go for the dude stuff, and in the end, find your own balance where you feel like a man when you want, and if you wanna be a sissy, you can do that too.

Bohemian Rhapsody. Led Zeppelin!! Stairway to Heaven. i do no longer care if that's overplayed. and that i do no longer care if that's cliché to like it. that's a pleasing track. I comprehend Queen, i myself do. yet i will take Led Zeppelin over Queen ANY DAY. :)

I think of the term "queen" as being sort of a narcissistic primadonna. Your earlier description of yourself sounds like they were fairly labeling you. But, you can be whatever you want to be. Believe me, do anything with confidence, and people will follow your lead. If you want to leave that image behind, and change people's perception, just believe in yourself and have the confidence to do as you please. They will get on board, or you can find new friends.

May I be of assistance, dear one?

The Queen is first and foremost a regal figure occupying a divine realm in the minds of her subjects. She maintains always the aura of perfect grace.

The Queen radiates glamour. Her gowns are ever bedazzling, adorned with sequins, rhinestones, and other sundry jewels.

The Queen's jewelry is only of the richest the globe may offer. She wears it with aplomb.

The Queen's coiffure may not be touched lest a strand fall from grace.

The Queen's heels are perfectly attuned to the occasions in which her presence is demanded.

The Queen worships her subjects, pouring over them the talents heaven itself has bestowed on her. Without thought to herself, she gives ceaselessly.

Thank you.

well, queen means the feminine side of gay, i think. if you are gay, who cares if you are called that? if not, just stick to your true self. doesnt matter how many emotions you have, how you dance or cry. if you are happy(except for the name queen) then be happy. what most girls wouldnt give to have a guy who understands them!

It's hard to find the exact definition to any form of human behavior; as long as you are useful and nice, there's no reason to be concerned; as your girlfriends say; be your truth self...As for myself, I wouldn't go for changes, that can be stressful and even lead to psychical trouble !

Oh honey, you are a queen. You should be used to it by now. Reading between the lines I bet you own a tiara.....now dont you? You really cant just decide to change who you are and then expect all of your long time friends to just forget your history with them. It just doesnt work that way. Now put on your favorite feather boa and have a cocktail on me.

A Queen is a highly tempermental, arrogant, precious, self-indulgent, hypersensitive, self-absorbed homosexual man with an attitude problem.

For example, Elton John.

One has to be more than just effeminate to be a *queen*. You also have to be bitchy.
