Most likely: radical Islam
Least likely: the Iraqi people
Secondary winner: Iraqi Shi'ites
For the US to win: if the Iraqi people win or if either faction wins and is strong enough to withstand the radicals (even if a dictatorship results) and Iran

the iraqis and AL-QAEDA who are said to be number 1 menace in iraq. maybe a Kuraq is needed i do not know if the kurds want an independant country in Iraq or if it would work but what i am thinking is this a country called Kuraq where there is an independant kurdish country in iraq and citizenship is Kuraqi in that iraqis there are in two different places at oncecountry wise. as to the other situation mentioned it would be silly to call another place sunnishea a sort of melding of groups i suppose you would not meld CATHOLOISM INTO Cathprotensism or even have a religion which has symbols from christianity, islam, and judaism, like say a cross with a circle and the star of david in it and the crescent from one of the flags associated with an Islamic country. well i say again let the UN handle the situation

Follow this line of thought:

1. The United States is backing the Sunni insurgents, in case you hadn't heard - because IRAN is a Shiite country.

2. The Sunni's are the minority (+/-20%) in Iraq and were the main backers of Saddam Hussein... So, the enemies of our enemy (supposedly Iran) who are now our friends (the Sunnis), were once the friends of our enemy (Hussein)... And the enemy (the Shiites) are 80% of the country's population.

The Shiites are the majority in the Iraqi congress - and WE were the ones who "installed" the "democratic" government two years ago during the so-called "elections" in March!!

So, 3. The government Iraq has, is in effect, AGAINST the US and our overall policies in the region. (No wonder the CIA put "feelers" out about 10 months ago over a "regime-change" for the government we put there ourselves.)
--------------------------------
Whatever the outcome, if anybody thinks the United States will be the winner in the absolute, god-forsaken, mess the Bush Administration has made of not just the country but the entire region, and continues to make with the situation, me thinks they're wrong.

There won't be a winner (except OilCorps) by any humanitarian measure until the United States removes itself from the dependence of an oil-based economy. I think Iraq will remain weak and in serious conflict for many, many years - which is exactly what this Administration wants - at the sacrifice of a potentially endless number of American lives.

And to top off, and widen, the entire myriad of errors in the Middle East, Bush recently authorized a transfer of nuclear technology to Algeria, of all places. The idiocy of this administration is a truly astounding, magnificent temple of enormous international policy errors.

Why isn't Mexico in the war? Mexicans rarely wage war on anyone, that's why they will be among the winners. Those who won't be among them are:

Iraq
the United States
anyone

It is the worst-looking war of all time. Power to the Iraqis.

In war is there truly any winner? People die and economies crumble. If by the end of the War the US can invent a new fuel source and loose their dependence on foreign oil and secure their own borders... they will be a winner.

Nobody. Iraq will disintegrate the day Allied troops pullout completely. 10 years time?

Easy.
Just find out who won the liberation of freedom from world war two for the good of mankind with their creation of peace on earth goodwill to men out there?
Was it the Union Jack with the Stars and Stripes back in the past?
Ever wonder who were blindly kicking them on their butts for their existence back in the past?
Ever wonder who were exposing "The elders were rude! children misbehave with self lack of knowledge" in making a mess out there with living human kind living in misery in own back yards.

Probably nobody.

The war has damaged the country so deeply I couldn't say anybody ever could call that winning.
