Using the letters in the word MYOGRAPHS, in how many ways could a group of 6 letters be chosen? What is the probabililty that in this group of 6 letters the M is chosen?

I can't get the second part of the question. For the first part, I did 9C6 and got 84. Please help! Thanks!

For the second part, you need to work out how many ways you can choose 6 letters if one of them must be the M.

Well, you need to choose the M, and you need to choose 5 other letters from the 8 remaining, so the answer is 8C5 = 56. So the probability of choosing the M is 56/84 = 2/3 - as you would expect, since all the letters are equivalent and you're choosing 2/3 of them...

if you put M in the group u have 8C5 other option
the probability is
(8C5)/(9C6)
