I heard that gold particles migrate through skin, so when one wear a gold ring for along time they would notice gold particles if they do tests(not sure what kind of tests I can't recall) , and if that is true what are the threats on health?

Now I know this would be rather weird for people to hear but that is what I heard and I wanted to make sure of it, however, it is all about the long-term use.

Absolutely not. Gold is quite inert and causes no reactions in the human body at all. People who seem to have an allergy to gold are in fact reacting to the metals used to alloy the gold with such as copper.and not to the gold. There are no health problems attached gold.

A gold rush huh? So how do I apply for the 'gold' card! :D

Sorry dude - I just couldn't help myself with the quips, but to answer your query, people have been into gold since ancient times, and there has not been any significant problems that were related to wearing gold unless one is allergic to the metal.

you can eat gold you know...like those gold leaf foil things that people use to fancy up food!
Gold is pretty inert (ok it does react, but its pretty stable and doens't react to much) and does not cause us any problems...it would just pass through us if we eat it.

I can't see how a metal like gold would be able to migrate thru the skin tho, even if it did it would not react with anything, and its not a heavey metal like mercury or lead that cause problems in us nor is it radioactive like other elements.

there are people alergic to gold believe it or not, but for the most part gold does not migrate threw skin. if you are alergic however you could get a reaction wherever you were wearing the gold.
