That mucus produced mid-cycle is your body's way of telling you you are ovulating. It starts thin, then thickens (becomes "jelly-like") over 2-4 days then disappears. It is about the 3rd - 4th day that you ovulate - 14 days before the first day of your next period. Its there to make it easier for the sperm to get to the egg. Perfectly natural.

sparkling skinny or mucous-like discharge is customary. it is going to have no smell. it's going to be thicker during ovulation, and thinner something of the time. If the release will become thick and white, like cottage cheese, and you sense itchy, that's probable a yeast an infection. If it has a reliable and offensive smell, and is greenish or yellowish, then that's another variety of an infection. in case you think of that's any variety of an infection, see a doctor for suitable diagnosis and scientific care.

Sounds like vaginal discharge, but I never remember jelly coming out of the vaginal region. What color is it? Does it have a strong pugnant odor? Make sure there isn't a yeast infection involved.

Its a fluid that naturally cleans your bits up there and down there either ready for a baby or ready for your period. It has that consistancy so it will be heavy enough to flow out of your vagina, but also grab onto any dirty or nasty bits and take it with it.
