I understand how you feel, but you should not lose weight in pregnancy, it isn't good for you or the baby. Eating right is the best thing you can do. Ask for exercising, you are really far along and starting a new regime now is a bad idea. Walking and swimming are really good exercises for pregnancy women and if you start slow (walk for just 15 minutes at a time or playing in a pool but only doing laps for 15 minutes at a time) you shouldn't have any trouble. Many many women gain that much weight and more in pregnancy, it isn't extreme. I get REALLY bad morning sickness so I tend not to hardly gain any weight at all (which is bad, but I'm a really fat woman so I am not as upset as I should be).
You will lose nearly half of the weight during delivery, sometimes even more than that. There are things you can do after the baby comes and your body has healed that will help take the weight off. The first is drinking lots of water (the colder the better). Water helps the body regulate the blood pressure and chemistry and if you are not drinking enough of it, your body will retain it (save it in your cells) and that will add weight. Drinking ice water uses 12 calories for every 8 oz to warm it up in the body so drinking ice water can help you stay cool and use energy. The second thing you can do is breastfeed. Breastfeeding uses more calories than pregnancy and will help your body heal after delivery (plus a lot more!). Once you get the okay from your doctor (sometime after the baby is 2 months old) you will be able to start some light exercise and then as your body recovers further you will be able to step it up.
Now for the confessions of a fat woman, I always intend to lose lots of weight after my babies come (I have had two and am 34 weeks with number 3) but in the first few weeks, I am so busy that I forget to stretch or even do my Kegel's sometimes. Nursing the baby makes you sit down and rest, it is easy to get into the habit of sitting around when you have a little one and even with the extra calorie usage, I find myself either gaining weight or at least no losing it because it is pretty easy to snack and nurse. I hate my body, I don't feel like an attractive woman and I don't feel like a good mom when I don't have the energy to run around with the kids. I'm going to try to lose weight again after this baby comes (this time I swear it...lol). My dislike of my body makes it easy for me to sink into postpartum depression and my husband's hesitation to hurt me or push me into sex after the baby comes can sometimes make me feel worse. If you start to feel like this, talk to your doctor, the depression will only make you not want to go out, not want to take a walk, not want to do anything. That doesn't help. Best wishes, and even with extra weight, you are still a good woman and you are worth it to take care of yourself.

I asked a similar question about 3 months ago when i was still pregnant because I had gained about 40 after my eight month and was freaking out! This was my third (the first i gained 14 pounds, the second 20) So, when i hit the 40 mark i couldn't believe it. My ankles were HUGE, and it didn't help that everyone else even told me i was huge (even strangers) I wouldn't worry about it. Don't try to lose weight now. Just get enough water, lots of water, keep an eye on the meals and treats, and just know that it will come off! My daughter is 6 weeks old tomorrow, and i have 6 more pounds to go and will be back to my prepreg weight. Oh, and my ankles came back after two or three days! Don't freak!!! Just remember everyone's body is different, and right now everything is chaos!
Good luck and congrats!

Well hon I have gained more than I should have too, I am 39 weeks and went from 136 to 180. If you are in your 7th month then you should be able to add an exercise regimine to it. I had lots of fat at about 6-7 months and still maintained my weight and/or gained while I exercised but I slimmed down. I lost fat from my arms and back by weight training 3 days a week. My legs are not in bad shape either, not anymore.
If you can join a gym do so, then use some of the machines. Best if they have a separate area for women. Usually when you join you can get free personal trainer sessions (i got 4) learn what you can for free then do it on your own.
I no longer can exercise, the swelling in my feet is so bad and my ankles are so very painful, cannot go down a flight of stairs without wincing,
HIGHLY recommend that you start now (slow) before it gets to you and work your way up.
I had a very weak upper body and after working out for 1-2 months I still have muscle definition in my arms and no jiggle not much fat anymore.
Also walk, walking can help you during labor so will exercse that you do now.
You can't lose weight but it is possible to lose body fat and gain muscle. Just do not overdo it.
Listen to your body, if you are in teh middle of a workout and start to cramp feel any pain at all, stop rest or go home and call it a day.
Also if you can swim, it is great to feel weightless
Do not let your body get overheated and keep your HR at 120 or below.
You will feel wonderful after your workout but pace yourself don't do too much and somedays you will be too achy to complete and that is ok too rest if you need to. But add exercies and weights to your daily routine
You won't regret it

That's really not too bad...I was looking up people who gained a lot of weight during their pregnancy before too! I'll be 38 weeks on friday and I've gained like 58 pounds. (The scale will even say 60 sometimes, but not most of the time.) I've heard of a lot of people gaining 60-70 pounds or even more and losing the weight within a year or less of having their babies. So that made me feel a lot better. And my doctor has never said anything to me about gaining too much weight. My blood pressure is always normal. Blood tests are always normal...everything is fine. And I plan on nursing after I have my baby, which in most cases I've heard snaps you back into shape pretty quick. Don't stress about it. Just walk a little everyday or every other day. Drink lots of water. You're pregnant! You only have a couple months left, enjoy it and relax! =)

Well I hate to tell you this but most pregnancy weigh is gained from your 7th month on. Don't get to upset a lot of women gain over 50 pounds. Don't be to hard on yourself, what is important that you are taking care of yourself. The best thing to do to keep from gaing to much access weight is eating fruit and like steamed veggies which is so healthy for you and baby. Drink water and juices only. I know that when you are pregnant that some things you just have to have to eat or else lol. Just don't stress over it cause stress isn't healthy for you or the baby. Try walking or doing the pregnancy exercises. Don't over do it tho because too much strain can cause preterm labor. And I gained 35 lbs with my son but my friend gained 85 with hers and she lost every bit of it by the time the child was 3 months old , I on the other hand kept some of mine on. She said she did all the pregnancy exercises like the doctor said and just like 20 minutes a day. Good luck and try not to worry. I wish you and your baby the best of luck.

Each pregnancy is different and every woman is different. My doctor told me that every woman has a pre-determined weight gain. In other words, nomatter what she did or didn't eat, she would gain x amount during her pregnancy.
I have no idea if that is true or not, but I was fortunate enough to have Gestational Diabetes in my pregnancies - I was absolutely forced to monitor my carb and goodies intakes; I lost weight in both my pregnancies.
I wouldn't worry too much about your weight right now. Your body is doing it's best to ensure that you have enough reserves to nurture that growing baby of yours. Sure, cut down on your sweets and go for walks, but don't freak out. I bet you're absolutely beautiful, and you can save your weight-loss for talking your baby on walks!

I'm 38 weeks pregnant and so far I've gained 35 pounds and I think that's a lot. My first pregnancy I lost 20 lbs to being with so overall I kind of stayed the same but this pregnancy I have gained 35 lbs so far and counting. Don't worry about it. You'll lose the weight once baby is out!!

It's not a good idea to go on an extreme diet when you're pregnant. Walking is good exercise, but you have to take a rest once you feel tired. You'll shed those pounds as soon as the baby comes. Does your family have a history of diabetes? It's better if you consult your doctor. And when baby's there, there are many safe and sane methods of exercising to start losing weight.

I'm 33 weeks and have gained 41 lbs.
my doctor is not concerned, my blood pressure is normal and I feel good.
I was on bed-rest in the beginning (from a low lying placenta) and then that cleared up .. then at 29 weeks I was in a car accident and it caused a leak in my water bag and I was flight lifted to a hospital 2 hrs away.
I'm now back home and taking my baby to full term! but still on borderline bedrest .. meaning I don't have to stay in bed 24/7 .. but I can't exercise.
I'm just trying my best to eat healthy.
Don't worry .. some women gain like 70+ lbs. and lose all the baby weight afterwards.
Breast feed that baby!
good luck! God bless!

You can't hurt anyone by eating healthier and doing certain excercises, like walking or swimming. That will only help you get into better physical shape as you get closer to labor. I lost 15 lbs with my daughter, and will probably gain around 25 with my current pregnancy, a son. There is no reason whatsoever not to eat healthy. Talk to your doctor about what excercises & how much of them they recommend. Good luck & congrats~
