I didn't even start back to school until I was 37. I started out as a Nursing major for much the same reason you have picked accounting, I figured it would best serve me for earning a living and supporting my family. After I discovered I didn't care for the medical field I finished out college earning a degree in English and a minor in Theology. I graduated at age 41 and took an entry level management postition with a major retailer. I am now 48 and have since advanced my position and am much happier now than if I would have stayed in medicine. My advice would be to follow what you enjoy doing, life will fall into place along the way.

My mom didn't start college until she was 27 and she was 34 when she graduated with her math degree. And my brother in law is 37 and he's starting his first college classes next week, so he'll be in his 40's when he graduates. Don't let your age at the time you graduate overshadow the fact that you've graduated - graduating college can be quite a challenge, so when you graduate you should be proud of your accomplishment and hard work and not bothered by the fact that you're 30. As for taking accounting and not liking math, ask on campus where you can take career testing and go take the career tests. The tests and counselors will figure out what best fits your personality and likes/dislikes and they will recommend jobs and careers that you would probably really like, and you may discover something you really like that will make you good money and let you be financially secure in life. You have to work a long time, and you might as well work in a career field or job that you don't hate and are good at. You don't want to get out of college, go out into the working world, and suddenly realize that you really hate your job, but now you're stuck in that field.

But don't let the age thing bother you, and be sure to go get career testing, you'll be happier and better off for it in the long run.

Yeah I just got my B.S degree and I am 31. Lots of setbacks, unsure what I wanted to do, unsure which school , thought we were moving to new location, didn't had to switch plans again. No kids yet, one on the way now that I am done. Have so many freeking credits its insane. Two city colleges, two universities but now am completely done. Now my husband who has been supporting me all through school can finally go back to and he is 5 yrs older than me. By the time he quits his job and I support him he will be 38.

You will need to pass college algebra and a statistics course to complete this degree. Get a tutor....Once you learn the concepts and formulas you will be able to meet the challenge. Lots of people over 25 attend college.... I knew a woman that was 48 when she graduated from college.

I finished my Bachelor's when I was 25. I went back to school again not too long ago and got my Master's at age 34. It's great, and you're never too old.
