No.

American Atheists are the most religious of all.

They censor all opposing thought in every arena possible. They create every possible means of character assasination against those who disagree with them.
They believe fairy tales about things that happened billions of years ago.
They happlessly go about denying evidence that contradicts their point of view.

But, no America is not hyper religous. However, it would be important to note that the country was founded by people with profound faith in God. Australia was not. Australia was founded chiefly as a colony for profit. Many claim that America was also, but that is quickly denied when you actually read what the founders believed.

I don't know what your saying mate. I found many folks going to church on Sunday(possibly because of European backgrounds) even in the farming communities(where everyday is a work day.) Not everyone on this side of the pond goes to church either. I would say it is about the same. Fair dinkum.

I hope we are not religious. why? well Jesus did not even hang out with those that were religious.

Jesus can and will change a life, really.
I was not brought up in church.
But I met HIM , really !
Just ask HIM, Hey if you are out there and are real I need to know and why do all these people love you so much? or better yet WHY DO YOU LOVE ME HERE IN AUSTRALIA SO MUCH ?

jetty: No; neither Canada nor the U.S. is a "going to church" nation. Notice - I avoided the term "religious". Religion is what the whole world serves. whether it be sex, drugs, money, careers, intellectualism, cars, education, cigarettes, guns, other people, homes, etc., etc., - those things we serve become our god; therefore, our religion.
