He is paying close attention to you and is trying to figure out what you are saying to him. He's probably hoping for a specific word or phrase such as, "walk," "bone," or "go for a ride."

Your dog is doing niether. Because your literally 'talking' to the dog it is confused. When a dog tilts it's head its a sign of confusion. it's trying to look at something from a different angle to understand what's going on. If you need to get the dog to do something, or listen, teach he/she to learn 1-3 word commands. When it's listening it's ears will go up and he'll look straight at you. I'm in the process of raising a 7 month old Labrador myself...

He's being polite !!!! If you notice after he tilts his head,& says WHAT THE !!!! he turns around ,walks into the kitchen & $hits on clean floor !!!

The dog is listening to you - you should talk to the dog more often - it's good for building relationship and for the dog's longevity

Maybe a little bit of both I would say. I think my dog listens to me, she's a lover not a fighter!!

He is listening thats his way of showing you that,if he is like my dog wether he takes heed of what your saying is another thing,mine usually listens then just does as she pleases...lol
