Until they can fix there O-line i could never see this happening...Carr has been sacked over 40 times a year since he started..thats not the QBs fault...now that thay got Schuab i don't see this getting much better as he is deffinetly not as mobile as Carr...They still have alot of talent though around the fact they they have no LINE on either side of the ball...I think the D-line will definetly improve this year though...i'm still scepticle on the whole O-line though.

There is definitely talent at Houston now. I give them credit that in a few years that this could possibly be a playoff team. There is still some flaws that need to be corrected. First, the O-Line still needs to be upgraded through the draft or free agency. Next, besides Andre Johnson at WR, this team needs another play maker to open the field up. On defense, this team has some young studs in Okoye, Robinson, Ryans, and Mario Williams. A pass rushing LB or hard hitting safety would just add to the mix.
The Texans are looking better but are still a few years away.

The Texans are debacle in the NFL. In 5 years they have yet to get a quality offensive line or a formidable defense (granted Okoye and Williams are young). They traded a first round pick for a quarterback who has only started 2 NFL games. Schaub is going to get sacked at least 40 times this year, because they simply refuse to protect their QB's. David Carr is a good quarterback who unfortunately got stuck on a crappy team.

Maybe, but they still made the biggest mistake with a number 1 pick, ever. Yea alot of people think it should have been Bush, but Young was the one they should have taken.
Everybody said they had a QB, but like I said at the time, Carr wouldn't make it 2 years. Young was the biggest star of the biggest home state school (in Texas that means something) that brought home a Championship. And was a home town boy. It wouldn't have been a reach for them to take him, with there O/line they could use a running QB. and he was the rookie of the year.
with the guy they took this year 1st round, williams should have a good year. But he will never be a star like young will be, or the guy you build your team around. Matt might be a really good QB, but he won't do much with out a line. Young could have.

I didn't notice that. They haven't improved the talent that they've had for the last couple years. Schaub is unproven as a starting QB, Ahman Green is on the downhill slide of his career. All this behind an offensive line stocked with guys that couldn't start for any other team in the league. Better hope Schaub is as tough as Carr, becuase he's going to get knocked around a lot.

Houston's biggest problem - dating back to their first ever game in 2002 - has been their offensive line. This is why David Carr didn't do well with the Texans - among other things, he set an NFL single-season record for number of times sacked at 76 in 2002.

You can't really call them a decent team until we see them have success in the regular season. This time of year, every fan has the highest hopes for his team. On paper, I know they look a lot better, but there are still lots of questions:
Offensive line?
Quarterback?
Which Ahman Green will show up?
Either way, I do think they have improved over the off-season, but don't annoint them "decent" yet.

Not really, because they aren't. Their offensive line is a mess. So instead they over pay for a washed up RB and bring in an unproven QB. Not exactly a bright idea. With Sherman making any personel decisions this team won't improve.

If they can shore up the line this year, I can see a run for a wild card. Problem is when they're in a division with Tennessee and Indianapolis, they're going to have a tough time breaking through that barrier at least until Indy starts feeling the cap pinch from paying Peyton a gazillion dollars.
