1. I think it would tell you somewhere, but if you hit the home button in the middle of the game there will be a selection called controls or something like that. Select it and it will give you a full read-out of the controls used.
2. You use a gamecube controller to play games on the Wii. There are slots for Gamecube controllers, games and memory cards on the top. From the Wii menu, select the disc channel (by the way, channels are different "programs" run from the Wii Menu) and click start when the gamecube logo shows up.
3. Wii points are used to buy games from older consoles (i.e. N64, SNES, etc.) to download onto your Wii. You can also use them to buy other things in the Wii store.
Additional Questions:
--Virtual Console is where you buy the older games from the Wii Store.
--You can connect the Wii to the Internet by means of a wireless acces point (like a wireless router). You will be able to use the forecast channel (checking weather), news channel, and Internet channel to browse the web through the Opera web browser. You can pretty much do anything you can do with an internet browser on a computer, even type answers to questions on Yahoo Answers! (i'm not doing that right now, but i could!)
NOTE: the Internet channel is free until June 30th, then Nintendo is charging Wii pints to download it from the Wii Store

Look on the back of the game case before you buy it. There will be a symbol there showing what control accessories you need. Most are just the wii-mote and the nunchuck. You need a gamecube controller for the gamecube games, they can be plugged into the top of the system. Wii points for for buying Virtual Console (classic) games, and in the future other downloadable content.

1) it says on the box- usually you need the nunchuck and wiimote. The other controller is for the virtual console... ie downloaded games.
2) a gamecube controller works fine- plug it into the top. This should also work with the games you can download
3) Wii points allow you to download classic games like Mario 64 and the such...
