I lost/ have been losing my mucus plug all day and my mom keeps saying it will be any time now when I go into labor... Well I read about that and everyone else says it can be weeks away. I told her about what I had read and she said that with me and my brother she lost her plug and about 24 hours later she went into labor and my grandma was the same with all her kids... Do you think genetices play a role?

Yes and no. (How's that for an answer!) Families tend to have similar trends in pregnancy, labor and delivery. Early labor, timing of labor, speed of labor, sometimes even the mucous plug loss. There is another set of genetics involved though, the hubby's. The baby's reaction to some things can help labor move quickly or more slowly. In addition, you have your mom's genes as well as your dad's so there is even another set involved. It can get complicated. I would heed your mother's warning, now would be a bad time to go out of town. But don't freak if it is still a couple of weeks before labor starts.

Of path genetics play a HUGE position in a puppies behaviour. And in each and every different dwelling factor on the planet - adding us! If they did not, why might we hassle seeking to breed puppies that might herd? Or puppies suitable for police paintings? Or monitoring? Or advisor puppies? The record is unending... Well honestly no longer unending, however there are a couple of hundred unique breeds, and they're a mixture of sizes, shapes, and temperaments to fit every breeds cause. Genetics set the middle temperament of any animal. This can then be prompted and transformed to a unique quantity through atmosphere and coaching. But make no mistake - What is on the middle of the of the genetics, stays the equal. It concerns no longer if that's herding instincts, fearfulness, prey force, aggression, retrieving and many others. You can bury their genetic predispositions beneath years of coaching all you favor. But make no mistake... It is able to bubble to the skin given part a danger. A well gun puppy bred to retrieve - would possibly certainly not learn, and can even be discouraged to take action. But given the correct situations it's going to instinctively retrieve. On a facet word - An APBT is a puppy bred for puppy aggression (find it irresistible or no longer). Therefore, your sisters puppy used to be displaying the TRUE genetic tendencies of even a good bred APBT. That does no longer make him inbred/improperly bred (he would possibly or would possibly not were). If you don't want to possess a puppy competitive animal - don't purchase an APBT. Dog combating IS what they have got been bred genetically to do. Make certain your sister is aware of this earlier than buying an extra APBT. Not all will combat, but when bred TRUE to the breeds nature, than it's much more likely than no longer.

I don't know if that's a genetic or not but with you losing your plug you could go into labor with in 24hours to few days. That what happend to me i lost my plug and sure enough with in 24hours i had my baby. So just watch out signs like contracting every 5 mins for a hour, any leaking,or water breaking then you better get to the hospital.

Hey,
I lost mine at 35weeks and sadly didn't go into labour until 39weeks.
I believe genes play a role in labour to a point.
Like I had my membranes sweeped and stretched and it put me into labour 9hrs later and I had my son 15hrs after the s&s...
My mum had a s&s and and had me 17hrs later.
Mum had 15hrs of labour with me {her first} I only had 4.5hrs.

You didn't mention how far along you are...
I'd say if it was a bloody show then you'll go into labour soon but if it was just some of the mucus plug {looks like snot sorry for info} then i'd say can be a while!

Goodluck!

It's hard to say. My friends mum had one of those labours and births that she couldn't barely get to hospital on time and even ended up having her second at home and her daughter (my friend) was exactly the same. Yet my labour was quite different from my mothers.
