Many users are here for the fun, but many of us are loners and still enjoy the "virtual" company. Something like "your world is OK without me and mine is OK without you" (that's hard to understand in the real world). We come here because after all we're a sociable specie.

People don't get us because they need "real" people to feel that they're part of society, we don't and then we're "freaks". They have no idea...

And I'll keep quoting P&S in my real life even when I'm the only one who gets the joke.

We offend their need for order and control ... plus they just don't like the idea that somebody, somewhere, may be having a good time.

intimidation maybe or it can also be they are not here to have fun but to get attention, making them feel more outcasted
