Well, I have sold cell phones before in the past and my family and I have dealt with many cell phone companies. So far the best I would say is T-mobile. I don’t hear too many complaints about them. I myself on the other hand have a Nextel that I can not wait to get rid off when my contract ends in December; they have average phone service and good phones but the worst customer service I have ever seen. They are always charging me unknown charges and I can not stand them. Sprint's service is really terrible and they are very well known for cheating their customers and bad customer service. My sister, my best friend and her family all have Cingular, and its always dropping calls and losing service. “So much for the "Fewest Dropped Calls” Verizon is also another good company, but I also hear that service is poor and they don’t offer a variety of plans. So T-mobile wins, they have good phones, One year contract, good plans that meet your needs on a month to month basis and not to mention they really cheap, they also received J.D power and associates Best Customer Service Award plus they have great service and that’s also because they joined towers with other companies. I give them an A. My fiancé has it and he loves it!

Verizon has the best customer service track record, but cheap depends on what services you're looking for. The plans vary so widely, you really have to know how many minutes you need, if you plan to text, use online services, etc... This site lets you look up what's available for all carries in your area http://www.letstalk.com/

CNET.com also has reviews and ratings on service providers and phones.

Good luck!

Hands down t-mobile. Great reception, awesome customer service and support, cheap rates and family plans, flexible, lenient, and has great phones and accesories. i always have reception even w/ only 1 bar left, a family plan with free mobile to mobile, unlimited texting for all phones for only 15.99, for 2 phones my monthly bill is only about 95 every month with equipment protection on both phones

Depends where you live, what kinds of calls you'll be making (regional or domestic), etc.
