Reginald Kenneth Dwight..he then changed it to Elton Hercules John...Hercules after the horse in "Steptoe and Son" and John after Long John Baldry,the lead singer in Steampacket..one of his earlier bands...dunno 'bout Elton though..maybe some bloke...
