Be true to yourself regardless of what happens with your friends. Take classes that challenge you, but don't over do it. You don't have to take every AP class there is, but take some!
Also, check out collegeboard.com and start looking at SAT test dates. Sign up for the e-mail reminders and daily SAT questions! Look at what classes you're taking and consider signing up to take the SAT subject tests at the end of the year for any classes that your are just finishing. For example, if you take US History, think about taking the US History subject test since you will have just taken the class. Also, make sure you take the PSAT and figure out how best to prepare for taking the SAT reasoning test in your junior and senior years.
Another thing to think about is volunteering and joining clubs. Join clubs that interest you and become involved. Colleges like to see leadership, so work your way up in clubs that you really like. When you volunteer, find a cause that you feel strongly about and stick to it. It shows commitment.
Goodluck!

Hi, I just graduded from my freshmen year. Its fine, you have to adjust to a new school is all. People are not going to throw you into trash cans. My main advice is to be VERY organized and be on your top game. Dont slack much on homework and pay close attention.
Your friends(sadly) will change alot. You will make new friends so no worries. You yourself may change more then you think.

Study hard. Get your record ready for college applications. Start seriously thinking about what you want to do for a career. If you haven't already. It can be fun. But, college was way better than high school.

socially, don't act like a senior and start a whole bunch of unnecessary drama, it'll come to bite you in the end.
educationally, don't slack off just because it's only your freshman year and take challenging classes.

When you're in high school, you'll wonder why you need to know what you're being taught. After high school, you'll realize why you needed to know it.
