i'm not 100% up on this thing, but i'm of Irish descent and i don't want no english people ruling ireland. however stone throwing kids shouldn't waste thier lives against the evil empires, jes take the whiskey stills underground or whatever it is you want to do. independence is over rated as all govts come down to the same thing. Again i'm not sure what it's all about and i'm sure many kids involved don't understand everything either. Squabbling because your protestant or catholic doesn't seem helpful either.
i believe people on both sides have lashed out indiscriminately to make political statements which is defined as terrorism. Now if a group focuses it's attacks on millitary with unintended collateral damage that's more guirilla or freedom fighter.

Probably both. The Irish have fought for 400 years to get the brits out of Ireland. The eventually got them out of southern Ireland but to this day the brits remain in control of the five northern counties. Sometimes when an invader refuses to leave local forces resort to various forms of 'terrorism' or unconventional warfare. That was the case all over Europe against the nazis....resistance organizations that the US supported. I believe that the line has to be drawn when it comes to unrestricted terror attacks against civilians in general, though not against certain civilians in particular. This is a tough call. Even in our own revolution continental forces did terrible things to tory civilians. There's no black and white here. War is hell!

Terrorists without a doubt just ask all the families of the people they blew up.Even after peace talks they planted a bomb in the middle of a town called Omagh.

When you kill people who aren't soldiers (eg. kids in schoolbuses) you are a murderer, not a freedom fighter.
Let's stop using this stupid term "terrorist" to describe people who murder. It makes them out to be more than just thugs with guns, bombs, or whatever.
