The perimeter is the length around the outside.
With a parallelogram you can either add up all for sides, or you can add up two adjacent sides and multiply by two.

Both will get you the same answer.

you can add up all the sides of the parallelogram
or you can find two measurements of nonparallel sides
and multiply both by two and them add them
