Opossums will eat just about ANYTHING, so don't leave your garbage out at night. And, believe it or not, pet food is about the same to them as lobster is to us, lol. I don't know how many times I caught oppossums eating my dog's food, when we had an outside dog. And, I'm not talking about dry food, even though they will eat it if nothing else is around - I'm talking expensive canned food! And the dog wouldn't get near them - oppossums have claws of steal!

Do you mean what are they useful for? Buzzard food, frisbees, etc.
I know they are ugly as two miles of mud fence, they have sharp teeth, they stink to high heaven, they are considered huate cuisine to some of our more rural cousins.

They hang upside down. I once killed one by accident in my car and thought it was a cat at first.
