My job issues my cell, so I pay nothing for it (though I can't text). The carrier is Cingular. Calls CONSTANTLY drop, and sound quality is horrendous, though I have 4 bars.

They are SO BAD, I am considering switching to Verizon (whom I had with my last job and they were awesome).

I have this problem too. However, people keep saying that it is my phone. They say that LGs have that problem. I don't know.

You know, that is strange to me. My father-in-law used to design cell phones for Nokia and he always said that Cingular was a close second to Verizon in terms of coverage. In fact Cingular is the only cell phone company I've ever been happy with. I've used AT&T, Nextel and Sprint.

But if they don't have good coverage where you are, then maybe you do need to switch.

I would suggest switching to t-mobile. I have been with them for almost 3 yrs, it's cheap, very reliable, have great phones, and are pretty lenient when you call in with problems. they have great customer service and support and they give you the best deal you can get. my calls never go out and unlimited texting is only 15.99 for a single phone plan. And even when i only have one bar on my phone i still get great reception, the call only gets dropped if i accidently sit on my phone when i'm on my bluetooth!

My nephew has cingular and paid for insurance on his phone, when he finally used the insurance they told him he couldn't carry insurance on any phone for a year. I was standing there!
