Yeah, that was something. Toronto has been having tons of gun-related crime for the past few years, and with the hip-hop culture being the way it is and targeting the younger crowd, this was bound to happen. Now there's talks about how the government should do a better job.

It's not the government who should do the entire job though. Yes, on the federal level, they need to have tougher laws and better proactive programs against gun violence, but at the end of the day, it's the parents' responsibility, and no one else's.

Also, where'd you get eight years from? I don't remember a fatal school shooting in Toronto eight years ago. Unless you're talking about Colombine, but that's totally unrelated compared to this (Colombine was a result of bullied, low self-esteemed kids, while this was more of a "respect" thing).

BillyBoy, I thought I already told you that you were an inbred hick. Remember? This looks like the first 'normal' question you have ever asked. But of course you are wrong on the 8 years part. Maybe if you watched the news rather than hung out on Yahoo Answers 24/7, asking people if we will ever be able to take a vacation to the sun, or why is the country Jordan named after Michael Jordan, then you would know what is going on in the world.

R.I.P.

My opinion of youth violence is immature. It's totally wrong to take a live or even lives. Can't they settle in different way? Such as, sit down and talk? If that doesn't work, ignore each other, it's that simple. Violence is NEVER the answer! Whoever did this to Jordan IS/ARE (A) COWARD(S)!

The Viet nam years. sixty seven to seventy one. whilst graduated, I have been given a draft huge type, it became #360. Then drafting stopped only after that. yet at school, I hated teachers, yet became comfortable with Arts and events. We laughed on the AG. pupils, this is agriculture, decrease back then. Now i think of that became probable the wonderful education obtainable. Small city suburbia mixed with working farm lands, became the demographics. Witnessed the locals evolve into Hippies, Disco Dancers, squaddies, and Hunters. It became the Hay Day for that places inhabitants boost. i became in the biggest graduating classification ever and nevertheless stands on the instant, for that faculty. classification length became around one hundred thirty five. approximately Fifteen pupils drove a motor vehicle to college. I spent time with one with a fifty 9 chevy impala, we'd pass out now and returned, power around the state line and get some beers. the college had corny dance activities. You had to love Chicago Transit Authority, then and there, i did no longer. Zeppelin, The doorways, and Grand Funk Railroad, for me. i finished up liking Chicago after all. Peace guy

i think the american culture plays a Huge role in teen violence. as a child you are subjected to 4x more violence than what would normally occur in real life. adults are able to look at things containing violence and can tell the difference from what's real and what's a script. unfortunately young people are so much more impressionable and instead of seeing it as freedom of speech or artistic expression or whatever they start to look at violence as an acceptable way to solve conflict. if you don't like what someone says its perfectly ok to beat the crap out of them or bring weapons to school
a few decades back children glamorized and looked up to the good guy but todays children are looking towards the villains as heroes. it's not acceptable to portray a good person as someone who exact revenge against anyone in his path.
people can say that there isn't any link between violence in music or tv and the escalating rate of teen violence
games like gta and violent movies desensitize their viewers to blood and killing.
just look back a few decades and see what was concidered shocking then and now and you will see a substancial difference

Children go to school to learn good things, educate themselves about the happenings and learn good things to become a responsible citizen in the future. But this does not seem to be true in cases of kids who steal weapons of destruction with them and knowingly/unknowingly hurt someone. This is really bad.

Major part of this credit goes to the parents who carry weapons but are not careful enough to conceal it from the reach of the kids. When the kids find these weapons, they are captivated with it's presence and want to try it out either for fun or to have their grudge solved against his/her peers and hurt innocents. Kids need not touch weapons, first of all.

Kids, you are free to play, make good friends, be joyful, cheerful and grow up to be responsible citizens. Try to learn something good & positive in life.Use your tender hands to carry the future of the world towards progress and not to progress in destruction. Parents, who ever carry weapons, please be responsible and make sure that your kids stay out of trouble all the times. If you can't make sure, then please don't bear kids. It's useless to be called an irresponsible parent. So save other lives, save your kids life and save your selves by being responsible.

How many idiots with guns are there in the US? Kids learn to be adults from the adults around them.
