What other bad superhero characterizations can you think of? Which, by far, do you think is the worst? (Personally, I think it was Ben Affleck as Daredevil... Eww)!!

In a way, I do think Tobey fit the part as playing Peter/Spiderman. Aside from Tobey, I think the main character from heroes, I think his name is Milo, would also be a good spiderman.
A bad superhero characterization would have to be George Clooney as Batman. Christian Bale was a whole lot better than George.

Yes! Tobey Maguire is by far THE best option for playing Peter Parker/Spider-Man!

I think he did a pretty good job, I can't really picture anyone else as Peter/Spider-Man! I don't believe that Robert Downey jr. is playing "Iron Man"!
