Do you think some others besides Jack's tonight were also forward flashes rather than flashbacks? Did you notice how this whole season the flashbacks were completely different in theme? Maybe the whole season was forward flashes???? I'm going to have to get the DVD's! This is the best show ever! What do you think is happening?

I agree that they can't all be forward flashes there were too many that would have to have been past. When I wrote the question I was thinking of Desmond's flashback where he recognized Charlie playing guitar on the street corner, but Charlie didn't recognize him. But then again, Desmond's got the whole clairvoyance thing going.

Now I'm thinking the Island is a parallel universe. You only get off the Island by death (problems resolved) or escape (still tormented). If you escape you enter back in your past but still tormented by it and also tormented by events on the Island. If you die, you enter in your future with your problems worked out and no knowledge of the Island.

Charlie is long gone. He is not listed under the actors for next season of Lost under imdb. Sorry.

I think most were flashbacks because it was about Sun getting pregnant, how Ben came to the island, Kate being on the run, Locke and his legs, Hurley winning the lottery and then why Sawyer ended up killing Locke's dad. Who konws though.

i agree they were flash backs not fowards after all claire was pregnant and micheal didnt know walt that well when he took custody remember?

i think we may have seen the last episode of lost with the flash fowards. LOST has 3 more seasons(by contract) but will only run 16 episodes a year(shorter seasons i believe) but what i mean is i believe the flash fowards may have been the end or very close to the end and the next 3 seasons will be what led to that. they will show how they got off the island and how they got into where ever they are now.

also i belive it was micheal who was casket. i dont want to get stereo typical here but if you noticed it was a black community. 3 african americans were across the street and the man at the funeral home was african american.

plus he was neither friend or family when he was leading hurly, locke, kate , sawyer, and jack to a trap in order to save walt.

but then again the man said no one show up so wouldnt you think walt would at least be there? maybe the black community was just a way to throw us off course.

logic says ben but im gonna stick with michael

I was thinking that maybe they were forward flashes on tonights episode b/c what else would he be talking about having to go back and that they weren't suppose to leave....but on the island Jacks beard is turning gray and in the flash it was black....

But others like Claire being pregnant and Jin's affair have to be flash backs not forwards...Maybe next season will be nothing but forward flashes and just show what happened when they were getting rescued, and then it will be the end of the show, but I hope not b/c it is a great show!!!

I wonder whose boat it is if it's not Penny's? And why was she on that frequency? Just by chance?

Just another twist in the show I guess....

This season finale was definitely amazing. I am so glad I didn't miss it!!!!
I like how the producers are starting to use the "forward flashes" to create a new batch of questions!!

Who was in that casket? Who's Kate with now? Why is it a bad idea to leave the island? Whose boat is it, if not Penny's...? Oh man, I can't wait for next season.

I don't know but I need to rest from the whiplash after watching. Love the show...and I agree....flash forward seems to make the most sense. Curious as to how Kate...who was a fugitive before the crash is a free woman..(ending). God I love the way they baffle the viewer:).

That would be interesting, but Charlie and Eko had flashbacks, Ben was younger in his flashbacks, and Juliet's and Locke's flashbacks would not make sense. That is a really interesting idea though, but I really doubt it could be true.
