The only reason the dog will only eat people food is because you or someone has been feeding him people food. I bet you wouldn't want to eat corn meal every day of your life either. Just don't feed the dog anything for two days and it will be hungry enough to have forgotten it liked people food and start eating dog food.

You gotta put ppl food in with the dog food...and it doesnt have to be that much. My lab was the same way. He simply wouldnt eat it, unless we put something good in it.*

We went out of town for 2 weeks, our dog DIDNT eat for several days, because all he had was dog food, and he had dropped a massive amount of weight, by the time we got home. So, what the others are saying, didnt work for MY dog. And theres nothing wrong with ppl food, if its a small amount with their other food. My dog lived to be 13 yrs old.*

dog food is extremely expensive in our country, so more than 90% of the people who owns dogs tend to give people food to our dogs.... not matter whether the dog is of a good breed or not. i have no idea whether it has a harmful effect on the dog, from what i know dogs do live healthy lives even though they eat people food.

though we call it people food. there is a difference it is because we prepare people food such as fish, chicken, or other meets cooked together with rice, some form of green vegetables and etc specially for the dog. its not the scrap from our dishes that most of us feed our dog (though some do)

First of all, don't feed him people food. What I do to spice up my pooch's food is to trim off fat from meat before cooking. I boil it into a broth, the mix up an egg, put some cheese, and even a little bit of carrots and put it in with his food. It's also good to mix wet food with dry food. My dog eat anything, shoes, table legs, me....but try to incorporate things that would otherwise make his bland taste buds come alive for the hunger of his own food.

With the circumstances surrounding dog food. I stopped feeding my baby dog any dog foods. He is on a tofu, rice, fruit, and veggie diet with me. Lean chicken and rice sometimes. Basically he eats exactly what I do, he is healthier than ever. I used to have a problem keeping him trim and now he is fit and in great health. If it is good enough for us, it is good enough for them. That's my philosophy.
Blessings

stop feeding him people food, that is why he is so spoiled now. I dont care how long he waits do not feed him any people food. When he gets hungry enough he will eat the dog food. Dont give in no matter how much he begs and whines.

Maybe if you start eating dog food he will think it's people food and eat it.
