Nortons is a real night mare when you go to remove the program from add/remove. Will not take any of your program with the removel. The real problem is that when you remove Nortons, you are left with over 375 fragments of Nortons glued to files, folders, registry and hidden all over your system. Let's just say you are going to have one hell of a time trying to find/remove all of the fragments left behind.

If you go to this link you can download, "delete doctor 2.1".

http://www.download3k.com/Install-Delete-Doctor.html

Once downloaded and installed, follow the instructions in the software. Open the software, open browser and open your program files and look for Nortons. Open the file until you see the same icon that you have on your monitor. Then click double click on the icon and it will show in the "delete doctor", and check off, remove on next reboot.

This program will remove ready for removal with all associated files.

Plus some are what is known as "write protected".

This program will remove a wirte protected file. And will also remove the entire file and all associated files with Nortons.

After the reboot, go to start, run and type in, c://program files, click on browse, and click on program files, and when you see Nortons, delete the file.

You can also type in, search for files, Nortons, and your pc will scan for the file and you will be able to delete all assoicated files for Nortons.

Hope you understand as english is not my primary language.

When you delete, windows will ask you if you want to delete all. Choose the "NO" to all. This will leave certain files that may be used by other components.

yes, but it will not harm you. norton installs .dll files (the basebone of the computer), but other programs do not use them. only noroin does. when you uninstall, it will delete those, but your computer will be fine. EVERRYTHING WILL BE FINE AND UNTOUCHED only files added by norton will be deleted
