No. Magic's impact on the game of basketball is 2nd only to Michael Jordan's. Magic invented Showtime. Magic saved the NBA, along with Larry Bird. Magic can score, pass, rebound and steal if need be. Magic can play in ALL five positions. His leadership was acknowledged by his teammates. He is the 2nd G.O.A.T. for many.
Kobe.. just scores a lot of points.
No comparison at all..

No , no no no
There is no way Kobe will ever go down as a better laker than magic was let a lone overall player or embassador of the game.
There is no doubt that Kobe is way better scorer than magic could ever have imagined of being BUT after that Magic does a number of things better
1. 11.2 assist per game(career)
Rivalry with Bird is still considered the best and highest rated time of the NBA.
5. Played all five positions when kareem got hurt against the 76's and also got the MVP award and seal the championship.
6. Not known as a great defender but still in the top for steals all time.
7. lastly it would never happen to be truthful a lot of people hate on Kobe because of the accused rape thing. Even though the case was dropped go figure. And MAGIC JOHNSON IS still loved by all especially david stern not only is he an embassador for the league but also for African Americans. The man went from collegant chapion to NBa champion, to Aids crusader, To big businessman and also phillanthropist. What more can you say about the man he really is an icredible human being
I like Kobe to but he'll never be the Magic Man

No. Magic's status is way higher than Kobe. I have to admit though that Magic was surrounded with many great players too during his time in LA but he really made things happen with the Lakers. He played all positions even center when the team needed him to and he really could handle his role. He has better leadership than Kobe and although Kobe still has many years to learn but I cannot see him being as good as Magic. I don't want to count the championship rings here cos getting the rings is not individual effort but the whole team. If u want to count that, Magic was a real team players and he contributed towards those 5 rings more than Kobe in his three rings and also it is a reason why Magic gets to the Finals or Conference Finals more!

Kobe and Magic don't play the same position and therefore have different roles as players. Kobe not going to be anywhere near the top 5 best players of all time.

No not overall. Johnson racked up triple doubles seemingly without effort. He was a good scorer, passer, and rebounder, and could hold his own on defense. Kobe, while being almost Jordan like in scoring, has not developed the passing creativity associated with Magic, and therefore his ability to make his teammates better is limited. For this reason he will not be considered better but is already a cinch to be a hall of fame player.

Please tell me you're joking!! Earvin "Magic" Johnson was a far better player than Kobe can ever hope to be. Kobe is nothing more than ball hog. Magic could score as well as pass the ball to his teammates. Kobe wouldn't know the meaning of the word assist if Magic and John Stockton were giving free lessons.

magic johnson is a legend, people will always remember magic for revolutionizing the point guard position. he made his teammates better and represented a complete basketball player. kobe is a one man show, kobe does the opposite, he doesnt help anybody around him improve. of course kobe will be remembered as a legend, i mean anytime you score 80 some points you are destined 2 be talked about forever. but will he be considered one of the best basketball players ever, no way

because of the fact anybody is entitled to their opinion :P Magic is my fave participant so my answer is biased. a good type of consumers on yahoo solutions are youthful so they probable have not considered Magic play. Likewise, i think that a good type of consumers who have self assurance MJ is GOAT have not considered Magic play. Magic is the terrific Laker as of now, and that i choose for to no longer discredit Kobe's 3 championship wins. He had a needed place on that team and purely because of the fact he wasn't the 1st determination many of the time, does no longer mean he did no longer play a evaluate prevailing those jewelry. That argument has no bearing to me and while Kobe retires i will choose for no count if he's as much as Magic's standards. i think, if ppl opt to have self assurance that Kobe is #2 then enable or no longer it extremely is. I hardly accept as true with the order of different ppl's record besides lol.

Never.
Magic was a freak of nature. 6'9" point guard that could play ALL FIVE positions. Kobe can't.
And what's more, Magic was a true leader. All Kobe is is a ball hog on a team full of nobodys. His 3 rings came with Shaq leading the way. He won't get any more by himself.
