Heres my take, Charlie is retarded and he couldve just as easily lived through this whole ordeal. I dont understand the writers motive to kill of charlie, I think he has a lot more to work with then Desmond does, with claire and the baby, and all desmond has is penny who is a character who gets 5 minutes in one of every six episodes. I loved the end were we got the future preview. And the next season shows promis. Your thoughts?

Is Charlie really dead? Well I got teary-eyed anyway. He probably is, unfortunately. His character was amazing; you hated him, you loved him. I believe Ben when he says Naomi isn't who she says she is. Obviously since Penny said she had no boat sent out. So whats going to happen now? We all know they get off the island, but we don't what exactly happens next. I was so glad when Hurley saved the day, we'd been waiting all season for that. Also, that Said (or Syed) and the other two weren't hurt. I still believe they are went thru Bermuda Triangle and fell into some paralell universe.

Whatever the reason for Charlie's death, theres a reason. I cannot wait until next season, LOST is the best show I've ever seen.

>>Oh I agree with p h about Jack's father. That is wierd, I totally missed that. He could've just been delirious, because the other doctor looked at him funny. Also, who died? I assumed it was Juliette*.

Charlie had to die here. Yeah, he could have just opened the door and left, but in Desmonds vision he had to die. By Charlie turning off the switch and dying, the rest of the vision comes true and Claire will be rescued with her baby. Thats all that Charlie wanted. Great finale though. Sucks to have to wait until February. I think it was Juliet or Sawyer in the casket. More likely Juliet.

I also believed that Charlie did not die but I read that someone heard the writers confirm it and that they will explain latter why they had to kill him off. I was very upset when Eko died until I read that the actor himself was a trouble maker and no one could stand him. So maybe they have a good reason to let Dominique go. If Locke does not get more interesting, though, I might lose interest in this show. Heroes is starting to get much better than Lost, so JJ must step it up.

I think at the end of season 4, we will eventually see these people that Naomi was tied in with come and invade the island, we will call them the Hostiles. Ben would have been actually telling the truth for once. I think they are somehow linked in with a government conspiracy. I think the Survivors and the Others will reluctantly band together to defeat these Hostiles. Many will die, those that live will be rescued by Penelope, when she eventually finds the island just after this holy island war has raged.
I want royalties for this when the writers steal my idea!

Well, I love the character of Desmond as much as Charlie so I really don't want to start to compare those two. But, my question is, why did neither of them think of taking Mikhail's scuba gear since they both knew that Charlie would be drowning?

Charlie was destined to die.. however. Its not like the actor playing charlie is asking for more money or wants to quit, so idk. My statistics of myself say

Charlie Died:90
Charlie Lived:10

Season 4 looks promising. As a dude, ( man) i honestly cried at the last scene. Tiem to go watch the 2 hours over on my DVR.

I hated it. Jack is a Dr. and now he is an addict? Duh!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think Charlie is dead, I think he will escape.
I agree with your point about Desmond, but did you notice that when the other Dr. confronted Jack, Jack said bring my Dad down here and let's see who is the drunkest? Get real. We saw him in a coffin, he was the reason Jack was on the plane.

I hated the ending, I want them on the Island.

I loved Hurley's shinning moment.

Lost is my favorite, and I missed the Idol finale to see it.

I'm confused as usual. I'm thinking it has to be some kind of premonition of the future and Jack will stop what's happening...maybe.. Like Ben said, what do any of them have to go back to.

Heck, I have no clue. Now we have to wait for several months to find out..ARGH! That's what I hate about season finales, although I look forward to them.

Charlie felt that if he survived that Claire and Aaron would not be rescued.
