Planted three grape wines what must I do to make them grow healthy?

Whats the best way to tend them? I dug them in nearby the Northern fence of my garden. I have not built a support yet, as they are little. So what must I do to assure productive grop?

water em ... no fertilizer, just good compost! do not prune for the first year!
