why won't vista read my wd hd's to there actual size. they are only read at 30 gigs and that is a complete waste of space on the disks. any sugestions?

they are a 160 and an 80. both are ide. for some reason they are reconized by vista as the 160 and 80 but will only allow me to format then to 31.5

What size are these drives supposed to be, and are they IDE or SATA?

I have three drives in this machine one of which is a WD 250. Vista sees all of these drives not only at their advertised size, but also at their actual size.
