Upgrade to a Business or Premier Account. You have lots more benefits and larger limits or none at all. But it is not free like the basic one. There is a monthly fee. You can always choose not to use Paypal on some of your items. You can take a money order or personal check that way it never goes through Paypal that's what the $500. limit applies to, not Ebay itself. If you need help I will try to explain it better just email me.
Here is the link that explains how to upgrade.

You have to upgrade your account to take off that limit restriction.
Be aware that Paypal takes fees from auction payments as well. It's .30 + 3% of the final auction price. Add the listing and final fees to that and it adds up fast. The bad part is that a lot of people like to use Paypal and you miss some buyers if you don't accept it, so it's a catch 22.
Good luck! :)

If you have a checking account, you can have PayPal verify it and add you as a business seller. This will lift the $500 limit. GOOD LUCK!

what Chuck J said is true. There will be an option called something like 'extended account' (i'm not sure what it's really called). Paypal will deposit random small amount of money into this your bank account. If you entered the amount correctly, they will lift the 500usd limit.

Yes, thats for both of you all safety. You could also ask them to pay you a check that get sent through the mail. Also for the future you could ask people who make purchases to send a money order.
