How do you tell when a man is being honest and when he is lying through his teeth??

Men lie...and women lie because they're afraid of telling the truth, because they know you're going go crazy. We tend to overreact about the simplest things and then when something big does happen, no one wants to tell us because if we were so bad over something small...what's this big thing going to be like?

Honesty isn't always the best policy in either case. You have some friends that you have to lie to. Like if they ask you if they look bad and they don't but they don't look great either, telling them that will crush them, so you're not honest with them because you can't be.

If you have a good guy then yes you can. If he loves you. If you can talk with him about anything because nothing he can do will make you stop loving him and he knows that...and I mean really knows that, then he'll tell you the truth.

If you want to know if someone is being honest or not you have to get to KNOW them. Watch their face, their eyes, go out with friends and tell them lies together so you know what they look like when they lie. You know how with some people you can just look at them and even if they're smiling you can tell they're upset? If you've never been able to do this then maybe you should work on your people skills some. When you really know someone you can see these things.

I've never been sure why men feel the need to lie to us. I think they feel it is easier than telling the truth and having an argument. Honesty should also be the only way to go. Then you wouldn't have to remember what lies you told and who to. You can't judge all men though, they aren't all liars, just as not all women are. I found a man who lied here and there, but as we grew together and decided to get married, he knows I won't tolerate lying and he doesn't. We are very open and honest to each other now. It is an individual thing, each person knows what is best for them. You can't tell which men are lying unless you know them personally or you are good at catching stuff like that, I am. I always find out the truth. I hate lying.

Men and women like to "protect ones feelings" Sometimes when we say we want the truth a man knows that if they do tell the truth then it will lead to more questions and men are very non confrontational. Women do the same. If you know your mate and i mean really know them then u usually can tell when something is not "so right" Also go with that gut feeling you get, if you have that and some proof then maybe you can get a person to confess. And you should always trust what a person says until they give you a reason not to trust them. But until then dont go lookn for a reason to doubt someone because if you do are you really ready to handle the consquences?????

Because women lie to men, many women don't believe honesty is the best policy and men should not believe what some women say.

Just because you have been hurt by men, doesn't mean they are all like that and it doesn't mean there are women that aren't like that. From the way you speak you are a sexist, which is just as bad as a racist.

I believe you should work on this, and you may find that men treat you better.

Men lie because they have to or they are creeps. Honesty is the best policy, except when dealing with women. A woman should, in general, not trust what a man says...unless she trust's the man in the first place.

A better question is why do women lie to men! The greatest relationship myth in our society is that women want commitment and men don't. Just the opposite is true! Women can't commit because they believe the fantasy that there is something better around the corner so they just play the guy there with until they find someone "better." Women are the true players and the true liars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, your comment goes both way. Do you think people really want to know the whole truth? They said they do but when the truth is told their feeling are hurt to a point they're clam up.
For an example; that you notice lately that you're picking up some pounds and you ask your bf or husband do he think this dress or pants look small on you? And his reply is yes it does (he is telling you the truth). What is your is your very first reaction? Would allow your bf or husband to cuddle with you later on that night? Will the thoughts of you getting fat will kill the move? Or, his reply was, no dear, what ever you wear look great on you (which is not the turth). Would you feel good about yourself and turn away with a smile on your face.

So, tell me what do you want to hear?

Sounds like you've been burned. Maybe more than once. There are dishonest, user men out there for sure. But there are also some great, honest, upstanding guys. I am a feminist who has some terrific men in my life. And before you condemn a whole gender, remember that integrity is not something you should give up on. You may have to be more cautious in your relationships, and not trust too quickly. But also, if you find out a guy in your life is being dishonest about little things, don't blow it off. Blow him off. Don't settle for anything less than what you deserve in your life. There are men out there who are capable of it, but sometimes finding them takes a while.

Well that is kind of hard to do, you have to understand, a man sometimes lies because he is scared of telling the truth, scared of what our reaction as woman, will be, so they lie to keep from getting---YES yelled at .... but then get caught about lieing, and then they try to be honest and say well I was scared to tell you the truth, witch is TRUE, but of course we are so mad about them lieing it doesn't matter anymore....I think some men do believe that honesty is the policy, but I also believe that some men believe that happiness is the best policy, and that's why they lie.........to keep us happy, witch i am not saying is right, that's just what they do...... but now just as many woman lie to men as men to woman.... it is just nature.....everyone lies........tc.gl.gb.kim
