It will happen...it will feel kind of fluttery like gas bubbles moving (kinda gross..but tame compared to what's to come :) )
If you're concerned, call your doctor. That's what they are there for.
Good luck and God bless.

Oh my gosh, don't panic! Some women don't feel their babies move until weeks 22-24. It's okay, especially if you've just had an ultrasound or seen the doctor recently. Believe me, they would know if there was a problem.
If you really want to feel it, I can tell you this - Drink a can of soda or something sugary. Then, go lay down for an hour. You will feel it. The first movements kind of feel just like a little gas bubble. As the baby gets bigger, needless to say, it feels like a MAC truck is circling around in your belly!
I'm sure all is o.k. Call your doctor if you are so worried that it is going to drive you crazy. And - most importantly, God bless and good luck with your baby!

Not necessarily. If you are on the bigger side you may not feel the kicking until a little later. Some babies like to hang out near the spine and they are harder to feel. As long as you can see the baby moving on the ultrasound and they have seen/heard the heartbeat, everything is fine. You may be feeling it and not know it. When I first feel my kids move, it feels like being nervous. Not proper butterflies in my stomach, it just feels like I'm nervous for no reason. After a couple of weeks I feel little flutters that I'm not sure I felt. Just when I think I'm going crazy, I feel a fluttering that actually feels like a butterfly in my abdomen. You won't feel the good boots, punches etc until later. You may be wiggly as a person so it may be tougher for you to feel it. Try this. Drink an ice cold beverage and then lay down on your stomach and try not to move. Just see if your tummy feels nervous or twitchy. If you don't feel much of anything by your next appointment, talk to your doctor. He can check to see if your placenta is at front or the baby is tucked deep or other reason why you aren't feeling so much. Hope this helps, try not to worry. Kids will give you plenty to make you crazy. You won't make through parenthood with your sanity intact.

I started to feel my baby moving at 20 weeks, but it just felt kind of like a butterfly fluttering in my stomache. The baby is too small to feel it kick, you just feel it as it moves from side to side. At 22 weeks movement was much more noticable and recognizable for me. As long as the baby looks good and healthy on ultra sounds I wouldn't worry about it too much. It couldn't hurt to ask your doctor, though.

I hadn't felt my son moving at that point yet, either, and he's just fine. 15 months and a ball of fire.
I think I finally felt him at about 23 weeks, not sure anymore of the exact week, but I know it was a few weeks after we found out the gender, and that was week 19. I was in the car, driving home from work.
There could be lots of reasons why you're not feeling the baby- you could have extra fluid, you're just not aware of what you're feeling, the baby is most active when you are asleep, the baby is slightly smaller than average, you are not as far along as you believed, or your uterus has grown larger than the baby needs yet and the baby just isn't kicking at the sides.
I wouldn't worry. You'll start feeling your baby soon, and you'll know what it is when it happens.
Congrats and good luck!

You're only at the "average" place in a pregnancy when women begin feeling flutters. It's not the same for everyone, and you may have felt it and figured it was gas or something. I wouldn't worry at all, but anytime you are concerned with your pregnancy call your doctor's office and ask the nurse on call for advice, they are there for your health as well as for your peace of mind. Good luck with it, I hope all is well.
(What's really flustering is a couple of years after you have the baby, possibly forever, you can feel "phantom" kicks and movement which sends many running to the drug store for a test!)

Hey,
If you havn't felt anything by about week 25 i'd say something to your doctor.
It's quiet normal for women not to feel the baby move until then.
Have you tried to lay on your tummy {if possible} and that might let you feel the baby move.
Try having a glass of cold water and then lay down still and put your hands on your tummy and see if that works...
If your concerned about your little one maybe higher a Doppler {like the one the doctor uses at your app and where you can hear the heart beat} you can hear the heartbeat and reasure yourself that everything is fine.
Goodluck!

at 20 weeks you may have felt it and not known it. my Dr told me when i was pregnant with my oldest that sometimes it felt like butterfly's or a gas bubble moving down. i cant say that it felt like a gas bubble but it did fel like butterfly's. but to be on the safe side call your Dr and ask to be seen to make sure everything is ok, or that they have not give you the wrong due date. mine was off by 3 months because i still had my period. the found out hat i was 3 months further along when they did an ultrasound. and with my youngest they said i was 14 weeks and the ultrasound 'read' that i was 12 weeks. good luck and congrats.

I experienced this with my first child I had a lot of amniotic fluid, lay down for an hour and concentrate you might feel it then. I would tell the doctor this at the later stages of my pregnancy and they would give me the non-stress test and my baby would be doing a somba for the nurse, made me look stupid but it is better to be safe than sorry.

Each woman and each pregnancy is different. I actually saw my daughter move first before I felt her. It was the most amazing thing. At first it will feel like little butterflies. Try not to worry but if it will make you feel better go and see your dr
