I have several friends with girls names whose nicknames are guys names. For instance Germaine and Geri, Danielle and Dani, Georgia and George. I would say that this is a good way to go. You can be happy with the sound of the name and she can have the option of going by her full more feminine name if she so chooses.

I think that boys names are cut for girls but not all of them. I love then name Joey for a girl but Logan is also nice. I think that chase or Toni are OK but for me Jeri IS A NO WAY sounds to old. Good luck

It is ultimately up to you on what you name your baby. I know girls named Logan and Jeri. As a matter of fact my sister-in-law's name is Toni (short for Antonie). As for the name Chase...that does sound more suited for a boy but that's my opinion.

I think it's great to be creative, but I really like looking at a list of names, and being able to determine if it's a boy or a girl. Spelling can really make all the difference!
Also, think of her as a 42 year old woman...what does it sound like then?
Sometimes we think that the name will be okay because we can stick big pink bows in their hair, and compensate. The name stays for a lifetime. Big pink bows are about a 4-year solution.

Certain names that were originally used for males eventually turned into predominately female names. Ashley and Leslie both started out as male names and now are, for the most part, only used for females. My daughter's name is Reagan which used to be a male name but has now shifted that it's mainly used for girls. Names that end in "ison" mean the son of. Addison and Madison are both technically boys' names but for the most part are only used for girls anymore.
But, in a way I feel bad for people trying to pick out names for a boy because, somewhere out there, someone turned that boy name into a girl name. I absolutely hate it when people use names like James, Michael, or John as girl names, even if they try to make it look feminine by spelling it stupidly.
For the names you listed, the only one I wouldn't cringe over would be Geri/Jeri (I prefer the spelling Geri). Logan and Chase are complete boys names to me and I would honestly pity a girl named that. Tony/Toni might work if it's a nickname to like Tonya or something but not by itself.

they are all good...maybe not chase, but I do know a girl named Blake and its fine...I do think they spell it differently...Blayke. If you really want Chase...maybe find a better way to spell it. I know girls named Logan, tony(spelled Toni) And jeri would be fine spelled like it is. You can give her a very feminine name...kids will always find something to pick at.

I like many boy names for girls. It is a common thing to do especially for trendy names.
I don't care for Jeri or Tony for a boy or girl.

To speak from experience... I have a boy's name and I am a girl. It can be traumatic, especially considering how cruel grade school children are. In fact, I was even mistaken for a boy by a substitute teacher at ten years old because I had short hair. I was literally teased for YEARS. I would never give an androgenous (sp?) name to a child.

I understand your liking certain names, but picture this... your 1 year old little girl, dressed in pink, bald as can be, ears pierced, pink car seat and pink diaper bag... and someone asks how old is he and what his name is, how do you explain that Joey is a girl? How do you explain this to the little girl across the street that keeps calling your baby girl a boy because she thinks she has a boys name. I'm not even talking when she gets into school. My daughter is 1 and she looks feminine, ears pierced, pink everything and people ask us her name and some ask if the baby is a boy or a girl. Its all in the matter of what you want to put up with for your life and hers. Good luck in your name search.
My kids are named Dominick, Amber and Kirsten.
