I was suspicious - Jack's cell phone gave it away - it looked like a Razr - and as far as I remember, they didn't make those pre 2004, when they crashed.

No I didn't realize the ending before it happened. I thought at one point near the end that maybe it was a flashforward and not a flashback, but I didn't know for sure. There is one thing that happened that makes me think Charlie isn't dead (unless of course his contract is over and not renewed :) ). I don't know if any of you watched Alias, but that was JJ Abrams show before Lost and there was a similar ending as far as the part with Charlie. In Alias, Vaughn (the main guy) gets trapped behind a door with a porthole window and the hall he's in gets filled with water like Charlie. Sydney (the main girl) who is on the other side like Desmond was also grabbed a fire extinguisher and tried to break the window with it. In Alias just as in Lost Vaughn floats away from the window and Sydney believes he is dead. However in Alias Vaughn managed to get through a vent in the ceiling and I think there's a good chance that Charlie will also somehow survive.

My husband said the exact same thing about the Rzr cell. I just thought it was a continuity error at first, even though it seemed pretty obvious to get a phone pre-2004. We also were clued in because why would he have been driving a piece of crap car when he was an up and coming surgeon.
GM- And when they were standing around when they ran into Ben, you could see someone holding Vincent (Walt's dog) on a rope. I was wondering what happened to him all season too.

Yea Walt's dog was definitely around all season, I spotted him a few times. Walt definitely looks older, is he dead? Why does he keep coming back as a strange entity?
Anyways, I didn't figure it out until I saw Kate. I did notice the cellphone, and I wondered for a few minutes if they had those in 2004, figure it was just a mistake. It all makes sense now. Also, I kept wondering when the hell did he look so scruffy because right before the plane crash, he looked fine. Also, his ex-wife was pregnant, and she wasn't before he got on the island.

I dont think the cell phone was a clue. the show has been on since 2004, but according to the writers, they have only spent about 90 days on the island, not 3 years.

No, I didn't see any of that happening. I am soo glad that Sayid, Jin and Bernard are not dead. I loved what Hurley did!.
Why didn't Charlie step out of that room, or try to swim out the hole after he gave Desmond the message? yes, I do think he probably could have done either one of those things!

R u talking about the season finale if u r i think they either get off the liand then they go back, or that is just a going in time what is going to happen 2 jack when they get off the iland, i am not sure but i cant believe charlie died i think this boat that they think are going to rescure them really isnt going to save them i think they are bad, Did u know lost is going to be on 4 2 more years, wow i wonder whats going to happen, i think claires baby is going to be stloen, but i really had no i dea that ending was going to happen and i didnt think lock was going to kill her, i thought they were all going to be captured bye the others and ben was going to kill naomi, then brake the phone and get what he wanted and i cant believe charlie contaced penni, But the ending was a lot diff then i thought it would be, i wonder what that flash back was of

I had a feeling either Michael or Walt would show up. Ben is so crazy sbout no one leaving the isalnd htat I find it hard to believe that he just let Michael and Walt go.

Good catch on the cell phone. The beard really threw me. I guess I figured it was the future, but how did they get rescued and who got rescued? Long time til next season.

You mean that it was a flashforward instead of a flashback? No. I had no idea. But I did have a crazy theory that the game changer promised in this episode would be that they all really do get rescued.
