I read practically everything, but I love supernatural/sci-fi whenever they're done well. Mysteries and thrillers are starting to appeal to me more.
Even though genre is what may make me pick up a book (most times) it's a strong story and characters that I'm left with, not a simple adjective.

I'm not limited to a specific genre.
I mostly read mystery and thriller, occasionally romance, classic, and adventure. At the moment I'm into Islamic themed novels, such as written by Qaisra Shahraz and Tariq Ali. Before that I read novels on medieval Christianity and Mary Magdalene.

I pretty much read everything from mysteries to romances to sci-fi to fantasy. The only genre I don't care for is biographies.

I read several genres. I worked at a bookstore in college and at the time read only "chick lit" and classics. My interests were broadened widely thanks to my co-workers. Now I love fantasy (Jim Butcher's Codex Alera series), supernatural (Harry Dresden, Kim Harrison), contemporary romance (Jennifer Crusie is my favorite) and young adult fantasy (I love Libba Bray's series, and I just started Cassandra Clare's City of Bones).

If I had to choose, I'd pick fantasy. I love the magic and strange creatures that inhabit different worlds.
I also like paranormal, which can include some romance (for instance, the Dark Hunter series).
Enjoy historical fiction, too.

I read many genres. However, I write mysteries and thrillers and that's where my heart truly lies. I love thrillers with historical connections to them. I also love horror - especially vampire stories. And I love Classics like Hemingway, Faulkner, Steinbeck, Dickens, Hugo and many others. Pax - C

I love detective fiction (the hard-boiled kind), cozy mysteries (Agatha Christie rules!), and true crime (no gore, please. I wanna know what's in the criminal's mind).
I read a lot of non-fiction, but no history. I like science and psychology.
