No, Jon Stewart is clearly more useful right now on Comedy Central lampooning the President and Congress.

If there is any comedian who should consider a run for the Presidency, it's a comedian who's running for the Senate in Minnesota - Al Franken.

U.S. President Jon Stewart and U.S. Vice President Stephen Colbert is a heck of a lot more entertaining than Bush and Cheney. :-P

I actually do think it would be a great idea. From what I've seen of the man, he is very obviously intelligent and well-versed in matters of politics. I think people tend to focus on the comedy of "The Daily Show" (which is fine- it's hilarious and that's what it's there for!), but if you listen to some of his more serious interviews, he really does know what questions to ask, makes wonderful insights, and he seems to have a very rational grip on government and how it functions and needs to be dealt with. Seriously- I'm not even a Democrat (I'm a conservative Libertarian), but I highly respect him.

He's already got the audience and fan-base and people know his name; I think he should do it!

Nah. I'm a huge fan of Stewart, but hes a comedian, not really a President, and he'll be the first to tell you that.

I'm happy with my candidate, Mike Gravel. Real straight-talk, real ideas for real change that we desperately need. No bullsh*t and no dancing around the issues.

Already have my STEWART/COLBERT 08 t-shirt. In reality having a comedian in the White House after 8 years of a joke is just too much.

Although Jon is very clever with his political sattire I think if he were president someone else would come along and be just as clever as he is at it and make him look stupid. Lets let the comedians do their job of making us laugh and think.
