With the jumper cables connected to the other car and engine off, jump start your car and check the charge voltage on the Deville battery with a volt meter. It should read 13 to 15 volts. If below you have a bad ground or a bad alternator. Was the ground on the engine checked?Does the wire from the battery to the alternator have continuity?I hope you find it.Sounds like you know what you are doing,Good Luck.

Well a yellow top battery is a deep cycle witch makes recharging a long process as best. If your alternator is good and you cables and connections are good then you may have a draw on the electrical system check the window motors and power door locks and the radio wireing for open circuts.

so your relays fuses are good is this for sure on some cars you cant tell unless you check engine light is on those test dont tell you anything i would start following your wire starting with the ground off you battery then go follow your alternator wires to the relays and fuses you have to have a bad wire somewhere or a exposed wire grounding out also jump start the car take the posative cable off the battiery will its runing if the car dies it is the alternator if not start following wires

Well, you don't know what the 10 min. $20 repair is. So I guess it's worth the $100 to pay someone that does. jk, sort of.
Something isn't hooked up correctly. Do you have the field winding connected?
Also check the battery again.

After checking all that it sounds like it would work.
The only thing not mentioned is the relay switch on the fire wall. If it has one, check that.
Any one of those components can fail at any time even if it is new.

sounds like theres something hooked up backwards, and drawing the juice, instead of putting it in,check the wiring on the alternator, and make sure the terminals are hooked up right.

after 4 month,s?.......was your alternator new or rebuilt?...have you had it tested lately?.............if it worked for 4 month,s....either your alternator has failed or your battery was overcharged to the point that it has sulphated & won,t accept a charge anymore......run a volt meter on your system....if it show,s 13.5 to 15 volt,s.....your battery is shot.....if not your alternator has failed......good luck!........oh.....run the voltmeter test while your engine is running...
