I think that Bonds record chase is a joke.
Can you imagine how many homers Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle or Hank Aaron could have hit if THEY were juiced?
Bonds will never have the respect that those 3 men have.
Why?
Because he hasn't EARNED it and doesn't DESERVE it.
"Celebrate" and "honor" are words we use to honor achievements by athletes......not cheaters.
Just my 2 cents.

First of all I'm a Dodger fan. It's been instilled in me to LOATHE Barry Bonds. I'm not gonna get into the steroids thing because everyone knows about it. But it does take a tremendous amount of talent to hit that many homeruns and take that many walks in the amount of time he has accomplished it. Should it be honored......unfortunatly yes. Untill Barry admits to taking steroids (Which will never hapen) it should go down in all the record books. Should the game be stopped.....that's up to where it happens. If it happens in San Fran it would be a shame if they didn't do something for him. Anywhere else.....who cares.

Sure it is hard to hit a baseball but when you are juiced up it is very easy to get bat speed which generates the homeruns. No he should not deserve the record because he did admit to taking steroids.

Records are meant to be broken. It doesn't say who, what, or how. If he breaks it, I say good for him, he deserves it he worked hard to get there. If this was 10 years ago we probably wouldn't be having all this steroid debates because no one cared back then about steroids or not, because no one knew or paid attention.
Baseball doesn't have to do anything, they have that right. But out of respect of the game they should at least honor it.
I just wonder why all these Bonds haters think he doesn't deserve it blah blah...and all that crap. People have taken steroids and not even broken 500 or 600 homers. Players have tested positive for steroids and yet fingers still point to Bonds. Other players confess to using them but people still point their fingers at Bonds. Regardless of whether he took them or not, what he has done and will do should be honored and respected, so what if he took steroids, they have been around for over 80 years and only now do we look down upon people who are just accused of taking them.

I don't even think they should honor it. I can't believe this whole thing is still going on, it's a sham. Bud Selig and MLB should of cut this ages ago! 10 more and a cheater breaks a record sad sad situation.
What the people above don't realize is that although it is a great feat, Hank Aaron accomplished this feat drug free and why should a person who cheats take that away from him?

It still is very impressive. Do you know how many people hit 300, year after year. You have to hit the ball about one out of three at bats. Just to make contact and hit that many home runs is amazing, even if he did take steroids. He may not be a wonderful human being, but the man deserves the record.

I love it. It is so sad how so many people hate on Barry. I wonder how many homers Barry has hit off of pitchers who were taking roids. I'm sure if we all really knew the truth about just how many guys were takin roids, that number would be huge. Get over it people, this was the steroid era. Barry may have taken roids, but he was crackin homers off pitchers who were doing the exact same thing. if you don't believe that, you're kidding yourself. Open your eyes. Quit hatin.
