I understand where you're coming from, but maybe you aren't the best person to be telling the world the "truth" about Emo. You described what Emos where, then contradicted yourself by saying that not all Emos where the same thing. You said that not all Emos cut themselves, but that you do (most people already know that preps or anyone can cut themselves).
I know it sounds like I'm just nitpicking for the sake of being rude, but I'm really trying to help you. If you want to make a statement, you have to sound intelligent or logical. Otherwise, many people will not take you seriously. Don't let passion or anger overtake you - plan out and proofread your post...then people will really understand that Emo does not equal "depressed, angsty, teenager."

I could care less what emo is and you should'nt be so offensive about what other people think because that is what they think we live in America where your free to say what you want...so more power to you if you want to post your opinion...but I also want to post my opinion slitting your wrists preppy, emo, or whatever the hell you are just makes you one messed up person in the head and you should seek some professional help on that.

Yes, I think there should be negative points for abusive answers or (I don't want to say stupid) answers that are completely unrelated to the question. Happy Easter!

don't you think you're being overly sensitive? i know what an emo is, okay? and though other people misunderstand you guys, you don't have to say offensive things about other people. there's no helping being judge that way. I mean, that is what other "emoS" do, and that is people see. i don't know how to explain it to you in a way that you would understand. but thanks for the info anyway. hope you'll feel a lot better. God bless.

Didn't know that, thanks for the info. I don't believe that music causes people to act certain ways, a lot of teens I've started to notice seem to have depression problems, or their parents don't care about them and they turn to alternative ideas to get attention. Not all teens are bad, just some of them need a little help understanding life, and a little guidance that apparently their parents aren't giving.

Emo's out now, it's not popular, and it hasn't been since Scene started, and it was cool to look like a transvestite coke whore. Now Scene is over and all the teenage trend-followers are kind of confused. Duh. Get in the know, kid! Don't you have MySpace? You should know this stuff. :D
Also, your description of Emo is like, the 6th grade version.
