I know for sure that there are free webpages that will check your "broadbankd speed". I have used them, just can't think of the webpage. You will have to use your search engine. Type in something like, "check my broadband speed".
Ram will only have impact on your personal pc. There is no relationship to your broadband as the speed will be what you are paying for. If you pc appears slow it will relate to having to many programs with high resource usage, or you don't defrag., your pc, clean your HDD, delete your history, temp., files and cookies. Plus a virus will also slow your pc down to a complete stop if you don't find the virus and kill it.
If you require additonal broadband speed, you will have to call your ISP, to purchase greater speed then you are already paying for.

Go to

to check your broadband speed.
Your ram doesnt really affect your broadband speed. But, if you have a low amount of ram, then it may affect your pc speed, which may, in turn, slow down your web browsing speed. Generally, if you have 1 gig of ram, then you dont need anymore.
There really isnt anyway to increase the actual speed, unless, of course, you order a faster speed from your internet provider. However, there are ways to "optimize" your speed, to make it work a little faster.
1.) Use firefox, it blocks a bunch of crap in the internet that slows down ur surfing speed.
2) go to google, and search for google web accelerator. Download it. Its reliable, and speeds up your surfing speed a bit.
3) make sure u have some antivirus/anti spyware software. This can slow down your computer.
Hope this helps. :D

Ram has nothing to do with broadband speed, only how fast and how many programs can load. Go to Dslreports.com and you will be able to test the speed and tweak settings.
