1. It has to be very short.
2. It has to be original. [and no I am not going to steal your ideas]
3. It has to be coherent and not some meaningless mumbo-jumbo like the astrodome shaped alien from different planet came and started eating people or similar crap.
4. If you can't then,
post a synopsis of your favorite short sci-fi story
including the name of the book and the author and why
you find it some mind-boggling and intriguing.

I simply need "a whack on the side of my head" to stir up some creative thoughts and right now my mind is hungry for sci-fi stories.

my grandma narrated this creative funny story about this guy who sympathized with a female buffalo in pain while giving birth. the good samaritan was warned by his friend against getting close to such beast in the deep jungle but he insisted and proceeded to help pull out the calf. whereupon the beast suddenly closed its birth-canal with the poor fella's both hands inside! then the animal rose to its four feet and started racing at high chilling speeds through thick jungle with its prisoner being whipped and whacked by sharp twigs and sticks, wounded and bleeding all over. he was eventually freed only when the beast attempted a long jump across a small stream and loosened its birth-canal muscles!!
the poor fella retraced his steps back to his friend where the ordeal had began. but lo! he found his friend had seen his ordeal and had burst out into a rib-bursting laughter and had laughed to death! the friend's ribs had literally bursted open!!

I wouldnt do that for several reasons. 1) Anything published on the net is almost a guaranteed rejection from most publishers. It would be preventing me from future publication. Publishers do not buy things previously posted on the web because of plagerism and ownership issues. and 2) I dont share intellectual property with others. If you need a boost to get you thinking, read some Bradbury or Asimov. This sounds like a school assignment. Pax - C
