I'm trying to figure out if the bush growing in my yard is either a blackberry bush or a strawberry one. I've had people tell me they were blackberries and others say raspberries. Does anyone know where I can find pictures or any information to help me id them? Thanks.

You can either take a leaf sample to a certified nursery person or try this website: http://plants.usda.gov/ . Be sure to click on "common name" below the search box. I hope this helps!

Does it have thorns? If it does, it is a blackberry or raspberry?

Is it taller than 6"? Raspberry or blackberry

Did it bloom? If it did, once it has fruit on it, it will be easy to tell which it is. Raspberries tend to be more round while blackberries are long.

Blackberries tend to have more and larger seeds than raspberries. Raspberries also come in colors other than purple. The raspberry will also fruit about a month earlier than the blackberry. When the fruit is ready a slight tug will remove it from the stem. The raspberry will come off leaving the green stem. The blackberry will pull the stem with it.

Strawberries are a low growing/ground cover type plant with no thorns.
Both Raspberries and blackberries, amongst others grow on 'canes' or long branches that will arch and trail if not given support.
Raspberries have smaller, finer, needle like thorns growing along their canes, blackberries have larger more hooked thorns, like rose thorns. .... or wait for flowers and fruit!

If it has thorns on it it is black berry or raspberry.. I can't tell the two apart til they have fruit. If no thorns it is a blueberry, strawberries grow on the ground. Blueberries have blueish oval leaves.
