Yes!!!! I wish somebody, the government or someone, would do something about it.

Yes. But unfortunately there are millions who will continue to drive everywhere (including distances short enough to walk or cycle to), make daily unnecessary trips (not just work, school, market or church), and drive gas-guzzling, status-symbol vehicles.
The price will reflect what the market will bear. I'm so tired of seeing dummies standing at a gas pump next to their SUV, luxury car or sports car complaining to a local news camera about the gas prices. The hypocrisy is laughable - the crying of spoiled brats.
Our consumption isn't the government's responsibility, it is our own.
We elevate our vehicle way above the tool that it is. We perceive it as an extension of our self. I'm afraid Americans are as addicted to their cars and gas as a drug addict is addicted to crack or meth.
And the dealer (big oil) is thrilled.
How much money will they need? All that we will give them.

not the gas prices as much as the availability of alternatives…mainly hydrogen and electric cars. Hydro cars are out, but not to buy. Figure someone would start a line of electric cars cheap enough for the lower income levels to actually buy. Poor & not so poor will have to rely on gas even if electric/hydro become popular because of the steep price.

Oh yeah. The "cheap" gas around here is now about $3.70. That is TOTAL B.S. I think I'm gonna puke when it hits $4 a gallon. Lucky that I need to buy a new car soon, it is gonna be hella fuel efficient.
