United States being legal?
This is now on a state to state legalization. Right now there is 14 states or so who have made it legal. Federal government grows it for patients but Bush Sr. put a stop to all MMJ patients being legal on this level.
If your over 18, or under 18 (with a parents who want you on alternative medicine) with a medical condition you can get legal in these states that have it legal, though you are not legal on a federal level yet. The federal government has better things to do with our money then going after sick people....well one hopes and just think of all the medical care these people will get in prison on our dime paid for by the government if this were the case?

Here in Hawaii it has been legalized -for medical purposes. Headaches, Glaucoma, TB, Cancer, Menstrual Cramps, etc. all you need is a doctor's note! You can check out MPP at http://www.mpp.org/ where you can check the status of your state. Marijuana should be legal, it grows right out of the ground! Hemp has uses as fuel, paper, clothing and medicine and is easy to grow! So what's the big problem? It's not like you can O.D. on it! (Believe me I've tried!) It doesn't make you violent or angry or make you lose control...

"All truths pass through 3 stages:
First, it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self evident."

So all of you who answered so negatively, lighten up! The wheels of change are already in motion! Live life - INHALE!

No that won't happen - Peace might break out and that is bad for business in Washinton

The government needs a scared and angry mob to coninue this level of exploitation

If people realized the government lied to them about weed they would start asking questions - They would eat pizza and not want to kill thier nieghbor -

You see now why this can never be allowed I trust

Not true. While I don't agree that it will never happen, it will take a lot more older generation types (who have the "reefer madness" view of MJ) dying off before there's political comfort in treating the stuff in a way that makes sense.

Hahahahahahaha!! No, no, no, my dear. Bush, out of all people, wouldn't do such a thing. If you want legal weed, go to Amsterdam; perfectly legal there.

This side of the Atlantic should legalize and tax the hell out of it like cigarrettes and alcohol (well...Canada taxes the hell out of both, not sure about the states). Places like Amsterdam have the lowest crime rates in the world because of this.

We've decriminalized it in the UK but there is no way the US will ever legalize anything that enables people to see things from other perspectives as the entire culture is based on systematic brainwashing.

This is highly unlikely.

Most people seem content to allow this crazy law to continue for as long as possible, and i doubt we'll see change in the area without they type of violence that was associated with alcohol when it was illegal.

I'm not a pot smoker but I don't see why its not legalized yet. I don't think that will happen due to all the idiots out there that think its so bad.
