I recently ferormat my computer and when i go on chinese web sites i cant see any chinese characters. It use to work before reformating. when go on the site it says i need to install langauge packs but i cant find any in my computer

You need the language packs. Go to the control panel, open regional and language options. Hit the languages tab, then select install east Asian languages and hit ok. It will do stuff and after you reboot your computer, you should have the language capabilities

go to www.microsoft.com, and look up language packs. I can't provide a direct link to it because Microsoft says I can't. It should be the sixth link down if you type in "language packs" without the quotes in the search engine.

You need your Windows CD to install the additional laguage packs.

open control panel -> Regional and Language option -> Language tap -> check the install files for east asian package and it may need the windows CD and may not
