Linksys' default ip address is 192.168.1.1. Open your web browser and type 192.168.1.1. This should display a login window. Unless you have previously changed the username & password, leave the username field blank and enter admin as the password. Click OK. This should get you into the router's configuration pages.
If typing 192.168.1.1 has no effect, or results in a "page cannot be displayed" error, then check your computer's ip address. Click Start, Run, and type cmd. This will open a command prompt. At the flashing cursor, type ipconfig and then press Enter. Look for the line with "IP Address" in it. It should say something close to 192.168.1.100. If your ip address comes back as anything other than 192.168.1.x, then you won't be able to connect to the router (again, unless you have previously made changes to the router's configuration). If you have an ip address different than 192.168.1.xxx, then your computer is not configured for dhcp. Post back or email me if you'd like further assistance.
Don't use 192.168.0.1. Try 192.168.1.1. Again, run the ipconfig command and note your ip address.

confusing writing.
reset the router by pushing in the reset button on the rear with a pin.
Make sure your proxy server in your browser is unchecked..
Internet explorer > tools > internet options > connections > lan settings > uncheck all.
in the address bar of the browser type
http://192.168.1.1 ( it is 1.1. dlink is o,1)
you should see a control panel
if you do not try clearing the cache
tools > general > delete files
usually i find i can get in with firefox if i cannot get in with ie
I agree it makes no sense.
At the worst reboot and try again.
user is admin, password is admin or blank
If you have reset the router with the reset button you will be at factory settings ( default settings)
Make sure the cables are in properly.
with frustration you can miss simple things.
Linksys has a setup disc i believe which does this setup.
At the worst call linksys tech support.
You may have a defective router but this does not happen that much.
When you get it going change the ssid and most imporantly the channel .

You generally just have to enter the routers IP address in your browser window. If you haven't changed the default address it is 192.168.1.1 for linksys.
If you think you changed it just go to start, click run, type in the run line "cmd" on the black screen that appears type ipconfig /all the GATEWAY number that appears is your routers address.. Just enter that into your web browsers address bar and you are at the router.

Have you called Linksys? They have pretty good tech support. Also, the IP address of the Linksys may be conflicting with the IP address of your Verizon DSL modem. Connect back to the modem (without the router) and get your IP address. I think the Linksys is 192.168.1.1 If they're the same, then you'd need to change the IP address of the Linksys router.

You have to use a cable and not wireless. Reset your router, plug it into your computer and use internet explorer. type the IP address and the setup password when asked. that should allow you to get into the config setup. your IP address should be something like 192.168.0.0 and your password should be something like password, I beleive the user name is blank.

You should type into your browser what's listed below.
192.168.0.1
If you haven't changed the password, then you still probably have the defaults for it.
They may be something like
admin for the username
password for the password
Then, hopefully you've gained access to your router's configuration page.
Good luck and please stay safe!
