The Republicans don't stand a chance of winning in 2008. I think they would be better off saving their money to run a formidable challenge in 2012?

I really do think you are going to be quite shocked yet once again. Didn't you silly Lib's learn anything from John Kerry?

Kerry should have won that election (Bush was not a very popular fellow)....you should really ask yourself...why didnt he? And what has really changed since?

No. Regardless of one's ideology, a functioning democracy must have a meaningful slate of candidates for the population to choose from. The idea that Republicans should simply "sit out" the 2008 presidential election might save time and money, but it de-legitimizes the democratic process.

While it is certainly within their rights to nominate a "lame duck" candidate whom they don't expect to win, sitting out the 2008 election would cause much more long-term damage to the party and the electoral system by calling into question the legitimacy of a party who won't even try to win the highest political office in the country and the legitimacy of an electoral system that would allow a major party to simply sit one out.

if they do they better save all their neocons and throw up Ron Paul. Since he obviously doesn't have a chance according to most Republican toadies, make it a complete loss.

Oh yeah, if he actually won because his message actually resonates with most Americans he would do so many cruel things. To the lobbyists and other leeches that is.

No more income tax
No more foreign aid
No more foreign bases
More state and local rights where they belong
Attempt to restore Dollar so inflation tax isn't destroying middle America

Why would any responsible hard working American actually want that?

To the neocons; We aren't getting bombed because we are good and free. We are getting bombed because we are rich busy bodies who like to tell other people how to live their lives and then use money and kill people if they don't like it.

Please look up the definition of isolationist before spouting those terms. Not wanting to police the world and refusing to bribe foreign leaders does not make one an isolationist. It makes one a good neighbor.

Look again - the GOP has a better chance than you think. Look at historical elections - Bill Clinton was a southern nobody when he ran in 92. But all of a sudden he did well in the primaries, and eventually won. This race is still wide open.

As crazy as this sound, it's something that should be considered.

You got snow white and the seven dwarfs on demoncrat side and 20 to 30 middle to old age white guys on the Republican side.

I can honestly say there is not even one Republican including Fred Thompson that has me interested. I say this as a life long Republican.

I am actually listening to Obama. I don't agree with some of what he talks about, BUT I find him a refreshing change in the political landscape. This doesn't mean I would vote for him, but I am listening to him. Things may change and get interesting.

As soon as Fred Thompson throws his hat in the ring, no Democrat or any other Republican candidate for that matter stand a chance!

Hasta la vista Hillary and Obama!

I think the Corporate Republicans are going to let the Dem`s win and tank the dollar and blame it on the Dem`s and run Jeb in 2012 that would give Rove his 100 year Republican rule he talks about.

No they can't just give up. There would be no way that would happen. It's not like they are lacking money anyway. Granted we dont' have any strong canidates and Hilary will be the next president. But there isn't much we can do about it unless we get a strong GOP canidate.

I think they do have a good chance unless the democrats get some new front runners. Clinton and Obama have no idea what to do with this war and if they are elected, the situation will become so much worse.

I think they should take all the millions of dollars they are using for their campaigns and donate it to something worth while that would better our country, i.e., homeless, health care for those without...anything but posters, buttons, election cards, ads, etc. They should all be ashamed of themselves for squandering money that could be put to good use.
